Week 99

I've now officially been set apart for 2 years now! The group I'm going home with seems to just keep getting bigger, with some people telling me that there are 17 of us leaving!

MONDAY we had a district p-day activity making tie-dyed shirts. It was pretty fun, but it was super hot out and it ended up staining my hands. The rest of the day was just more basketball, as is the new normal.

TUESDAY I was just sore and tired all day from p-day. But, President and Sister Willis were there for district council, so it was nice getting to talk with them.

WEDNESDAY I had interviews with President Willis. It was a really special experience because I was able to do a temple recommend interview with President and talk about what I've gained on the mission. Then the rest of the day we were just teaching a bunch of our recent converts.

THURSDAY a lot of our day got taken up because of helping out at the soup kitchen and then getting cleaned up afterwards. And then, to make matters worse, we ended up having 2 dinners that night. Overall, it was fun, but not super productive.

FRIDAY was a day I had been looking forward to almost all week because our DL had planned a special exchange where I would be able to go up to Truth or Consequences, NM with my MTC companion, Elder Magnuson! It was probably one of the most fun exchanges I've had in my mission, and I'm so glad we got to do it. We got to talk about the MTC, about plans for after the mission, and just have a good time overall. It was also pretty cool to get to see what TorC was like and meet some of the people there.

SATURDAY we didn’t have a lot of time because of a whole lot of things. We had to drive down from TorC to unexchange mid-way in Hatch, then we had to spend an hour cleaning the apartment because our apartment mates had left a ton of messes everywhere, and finally we had a bit of random unexpected service. Overall, it was a good day though.

SUNDAY wasn't too special, but we did have all our recent converts at church though, which was nice.

Alma 18:34–35 says,
"34 Ammon said unto him: I am a man; and man in the beginning was created after the image of God, and I am called by his Holy Spirit to teach these things unto this people, that they may be brought to a knowledge of that which is just and true;
35 And a portion of that Spirit dwelleth in me, which giveth me knowledge, and also power according to my faith and desires which are in God."
