Week 55
Another week, another area. If this rate of new companions keeps up, I'll end up having somewhere around 17 companions by the end of my mission!
MONDAY was my last P-day of the transfer, so a lot of missionaries got together really early to play basketball and board games. It was a pretty good time, and I was able to say goodbye to a bunch of people. When we went shopping, we ended up running into a ton of members, which was pretty funny because of how back-to-back it was.
TUESDAY was a pretty normal day for finding where we just gave it our all before I got transferred. A lot of downtime that day was just spent packing.
WEDNESDAY was the actual transfer day, so we headed over to the transfer site to get everything switched around. I said hi to a bunch of missionaries I knew and hello to a bunch of new ones before I left. We spent almost all day just driving out there to get our new companions, and then when I met Elder Watson, my new companion, we had to spend another 2 hours to get to our area.
THURSDAY we got right to work at finding and teaching. Unfortunately, all that finding and teaching ended up being in Spanish, so I just kinda stood there and hung out, haha!
FRIDAY we had the first district council, which was a bit different because our whole zone is the size of a district, and our zone leaders are our district leaders. Pretty weird, but we had some really good trainings on how we can have our days be more Spirit-led.
SATURDAY we spent a good bit of our day at the chapel because the members needed some help setting up for a baptism for their kid. It was also cool because I got to be in the confirmation circle. We also went to this funny little town called Kermit. Nothing too special, just a funny name.
SUNDAY we had branch conference where we had the district presidency and the mission president give a bunch of talks. It was a really spiritual experience, and what made it even cooler was that we had 4 of our friends come to church.
Helaman 14:30 says, "And now remember, remember, my brethren, that whosoever perisheth, perisheth unto himself; and whosoever doeth iniquity, doeth it unto himself; for behold, ye are free; ye are permitted to act for yourselves; for behold, God hath given unto you a knowledge and he hath made you free." Each and every one of us has the ability to make choices that can either be a blessing or a curse in our lives, but through Jesus Christ we can make choices that will bless our eternal lives.
