Week 97
I'm officially in my last transfer now, and it's really weird to think about that. But I've still got time left, and I'm gonna make the most of it!
MONDAY we said goodbyes to the missionaries going home and did a bunch of transfer journal signing. It was the birthday of one of the sisters in the district, so her mom paid for everyone in the district to go to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. It was really good, and I was very grateful.
TUESDAY was an eventful day with us having a couple of lessons, giving a blessing, packing, and saying goodbyes to people.
WEDNESDAY was transfers, but before we went down to El Paso, we went to Dutch Bros to get the stick of the month. It was a fun way to finish off with Elder Riggle, and I'm glad we did it. I said hi to a lot of old companions and other missionaries at the transfer site and picked up my new companion, Elder Burnett.
THURSDAY was a super exciting day for me because I was able to watch my younger brother, Deacon, open his mission call to Kobe, Japan! I'm super excited for him to be going on a mission.
FRIDAY we had zone council, and they started it off by stealing all our name tags and making us do a scavenger hunt to find them. Pretty confusing, but it was OK.
SATURDAY we had lessons with our friends who are on date for baptism and did some prep work for them.
SUNDAY our day was all over the place. We finished up around 2 and then went to a baptism in the YSA ward around 3:30, followed by playing basketball with the guy who got baptized from 4:30–6. Once that was all done, we hadn't done any studies or meals yet, so our day was pretty much over past that point.
1 Nephi 22:30–31 says,
"30 Wherefore, my brethren, I would that ye should consider that the things which have been written upon the plates of brass are true; and they testify that a man must be obedient to the commandments of God.
31 Wherefore, ye need not suppose that I and my father are the only ones that have testified, and also taught them. Wherefore, if ye shall be obedient to the commandments, and endure to the end, ye shall be saved at the last day. And thus it is. Amen."
