Week 96

Another week, another comp. Transfer news has come, and Elder Riggle will not be the one to kill me off on my last transfer.
MONDAY I found a new board game at the store that I wanted to try out. It might seem a bit backwards to get more stuff I'll need to bring home, but I'll make it work. In other news, I found out why sports have been killing me so much recently. Turns out, my inhaler has been expired for around a year haha!
TUESDAY we went on zone-wide exchanges. I went with Elder Draper in my area, and we had a pretty good day visiting some people.
WEDNESDAY the apartment decided to try out my new board game after we all came in for the night. It's really fun, but it takes a while to do stuff.
THURSDAY we got some sad news. Due to some circumstances, Angel's baptism needs to be pushed back a couple of weeks. It's a bit disappointing, but we're gonna make sure he gets baptized. Also, we are still playing the game from the day before. Spoiler: we decided to pack it up because we didn't think we'd finish it before the transfer was over.
FRIDAY we had some service moving a member from another ward into our ward. Our ward is starting to get a little short on members, so we'll take anyone we can get! We also had a cool moment where us and the elders we live with started talking about the church with someone in front of our apartment, and then another set of missionaries just showed up out of nowhere.
SATURDAY we had more service helping people move. I guess summer is just the time for people to move. Then that evening we got transfer news, and I am staying in the Las Colinas area, and my new companion is Elder Burnett. This makes 16 comps in 17 transfers. Crazy, right?
SUNDAY we had a linger longer after church with the ward so everyone could end their fasts. Then the rest of the day was spent having Elder Riggle say his goodbyes.
Moroni 10:8 says, "8 And again, I exhort you, my brethren, that ye deny not the gifts of God, for they are many; and they come from the same God. And there are different ways that these gifts are administered; but it is the same God who worketh all in all; and they are given by the manifestations of the Spirit of God unto men, to profit them."

This email won't be too long because the only thing that really happened this week was that both Elder Shawcroft and I got a stomach bug which knocked us out for the week. It was a rough couple of days, but we're back in shape and are excited to return to the work. MONDAY we had our last p-day of the transfer down in Santa Fe. We played a bunch of dodgeball with the whole zone for a bit and then a handful of us started playing the one board game called 7 Wonders with one of the senior missionaries. The rest of the day was pretty normal, except at the very end when Elder Shawcroft started having symptoms from the stomach bug. TUESDAY we just stayed inside and let Elder Shawcroft work on recovering. WEDNESDAY we managed to have a phone lesson with one of our friends we had been teaching for a bit, Anna. Week 24

This was a really good week, but a lot of it is kind of blurred together. There's a day where I'm thinking that we talked to a certain person just yesterday, but it was really three days ago. At least that means the days are going quickly. MONDAY was a fun and sad day. At zone p-day, we had a lot of fun playing basketball, board games, and just hanging out, but we also said goodbye to a sister who was going home early. It's sad to see missionaries go home early in every case, but I know that the Lord has a plan for each and every one of us. At dinner that night, we got to hold some snakes that this member family had. It was pretty cool to be able to hold them and feel them, but Elder Stanger was not as excited as I was. For the last bit of the day, we were able to have a lesson with the bishop of one of our wards and a less active family that we had been meeting with, and you could just feel the bishop's love for them. Week 73

Don't worry, I didn't miss a week; we just had our p-day moved to Christmas Eve! This email will be slightly longer, but next week's will be a bit shorter. MONDAY we made cookies with our district before everyone got together for p-day. We didn't have a mixer, so they just made me use my hand to mix the dough. TUESDAY we had a couple of really good lessons with some of the people we met. I also had a meeting with all the other social media trainers in the mission to help get them prepared for the new transfer. WEDNESDAY nothing went as we planned. We had everything set up a certain way that morning during daily planning, and by the end of the day, our schedule was completely different! THURSDAY I took a bit of time getting some presents and letters ready for my last and current mission presidents.
