Week 93

This week's been pretty busy in a lot of different ways! My mission is changing in a couple different ways, some good and some less good. But I just trust that the Lord will bless us for our efforts.
MONDAY we spent the day running around to the doctor's, to get haircuts, and finally meeting up with the zone to have a cookout. The food was good, but you could definitely tell some of those missionaries hadn't cooked for themselves before.
TUESDAY we got together with the zone again so that we could practice a song we were going to perform at zone conference the next day.
WEDNESDAY zone conference was a bit of a different one. The mission has been having a lot of challenges with being reverent and showing respect to members and friends. It all built up and finally hit a boiling point that made it necessary for President and all the other senior missionaries to chastise the whole mission. All of it was stuff that really needed to be talked about, so I was pretty grateful for it all. A second thing that was cool was that after zone conference, President Willis came with us to a lesson with our friend on date for baptism. It was really cool, and President was able to do his baptismal interview and approved him for baptism!
THURSDAY I went to the doctor to get an ingrown nail that was causing me a lot of pain removed. After that, we had interviews and then just sat around for the rest of the day.
FRIDAY we got the news that they are removing Facebook from our mission. Otherwise, it was a slow day with not much success.
SATURDAY we went down to El Paso for the baptism I had been teaching when I was in the Redd Ward. It was cool to be able to see some familiar faces and watch the baptism. We also got the news that they are changing weekly planning and p-day. Now we do weekly planning on Sunday and we have a required 3 hours of missionary work on Mondays. My opinion is that these changes are pretty ineffective for our mission, but we'll see how it goes.
SUNDAY was Mother's Day! Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mothers out there who do so much for their families. We ended up just sitting around in the apartment all day after church doing studies and planning. But 2 really cool things that happened were that I was given a 3D-printed tie at church and that I finished the New Testament! With that, I have read every single standard work while I've been on the mission!

2 Nephi 9:51 says,
"51 Wherefore, do not spend money for that which is of no worth, nor your labor for that which cannot satisfy. Hearken diligently unto me, and remember the words which I have spoken; and come unto the Holy One of Israel, and feast upon that which perisheth not, neither can be corrupted, and let your soul delight in fatness."
