Week 92

Some sad news for this week is that we have to move our trip to the temple. Our recent convert had some school stuff come up and he doesn't know when they'll be available next. So sad, but we'll keep going strong!
MONDAY was a very all-over-the-place kinda day. We got our tire fixed, went thrift shopping, got ice cream with the district, and played a bunch of games. It was a lot of fun with the only bad thing being that my asthma hit me really badly when I subbed in during a basketball game the other missionaries were playing.
TUESDAY our district leader had us go out onto the NMSU campus during his training and just talk to people we meet for 40 minutes. The first 10 minutes were fine, but then the next 30 minutes sucked because I just got Bible-bashed by this one random guy nonstop. Sarcasm doesn't come across the best in an email, but I just lovvvvve campuses.
WEDNESDAY we managed to make some really good contacts with the people we had planned to visit that day and even met some new people in between the contacts.
THURSDAY we spent most of the morning helping out at a local soup kitchen. It was pretty fun because most of the zone was there all working and having a good time, and they even gave Elder Riggle a steak at the end because of how much he helped out.
FRIDAY morning we did some service cleaning up the yard of one of our members. Other than that, the day was pretty uneventful.
SATURDAY we had exchanges. We went to a baptism they had that morning and then started the exchange afterwards. Overall, it was an uneventful day.
SUNDAY we had a big potluck with the ward after church to end everyone's fast. It was a lot of fun and was pretty enjoyable.

In Mormon 8:12, Moroni gives his testimony of the records which later became the Book of Mormon. He said,
"12 And whoso receiveth this record, and shall not condemn it because of the imperfections which are in it, the same shall know of greater things than these. Behold, I am Moroni; and were it possible, I would make all things known unto you."

This email won't be too long because the only thing that really happened this week was that both Elder Shawcroft and I got a stomach bug which knocked us out for the week. It was a rough couple of days, but we're back in shape and are excited to return to the work. MONDAY we had our last p-day of the transfer down in Santa Fe. We played a bunch of dodgeball with the whole zone for a bit and then a handful of us started playing the one board game called 7 Wonders with one of the senior missionaries. The rest of the day was pretty normal, except at the very end when Elder Shawcroft started having symptoms from the stomach bug. TUESDAY we just stayed inside and let Elder Shawcroft work on recovering. WEDNESDAY we managed to have a phone lesson with one of our friends we had been teaching for a bit, Anna. Week 24

This was a really good week, but a lot of it is kind of blurred together. There's a day where I'm thinking that we talked to a certain person just yesterday, but it was really three days ago. At least that means the days are going quickly. MONDAY was a fun and sad day. At zone p-day, we had a lot of fun playing basketball, board games, and just hanging out, but we also said goodbye to a sister who was going home early. It's sad to see missionaries go home early in every case, but I know that the Lord has a plan for each and every one of us. At dinner that night, we got to hold some snakes that this member family had. It was pretty cool to be able to hold them and feel them, but Elder Stanger was not as excited as I was. For the last bit of the day, we were able to have a lesson with the bishop of one of our wards and a less active family that we had been meeting with, and you could just feel the bishop's love for them. Week 73

Don't worry, I didn't miss a week; we just had our p-day moved to Christmas Eve! This email will be slightly longer, but next week's will be a bit shorter. MONDAY we made cookies with our district before everyone got together for p-day. We didn't have a mixer, so they just made me use my hand to mix the dough. TUESDAY we had a couple of really good lessons with some of the people we met. I also had a meeting with all the other social media trainers in the mission to help get them prepared for the new transfer. WEDNESDAY nothing went as we planned. We had everything set up a certain way that morning during daily planning, and by the end of the day, our schedule was completely different! THURSDAY I took a bit of time getting some presents and letters ready for my last and current mission presidents.
