Week 90
This week's been a little long with transfers and getting adjusted to the new area, but it's pretty exciting too. We have a lot more people that we're teaching in this area, and we also have a lot more members. It's looking like this next transfer will be really busy!
MONDAY I spent most of the time just saying goodbyes to people in the zone and hanging out with everyone. Nothing too special, but it was still a good time.
TUESDAY I spent some time going around and saying goodbyes to members in the ward. I also spent most of the evening hours just packing my bags to get ready for transfers.
WEDNESDAY we took the drive down to El Paso for transfers. We ended up getting there an hour early, so I just took off to the apartments that a bunch of the other missionaries lived at near the transfer site and hung out with them for a bit. Transfers are fun because I get to see a bunch of the other missionaries that I normally don't see. After we got all my stuff moved over, Elder Riggle and I got on the road back to Las Cruces.
THURSDAY we had a massive dust storm that made it hazardous to go outside. It was so bad that all the missionaries in Las Cruces got told to stay inside. Wind, dust, and green chili are all staples of New Mexico.
FRIDAY was still really dusty, but not quite so bad. We went out and had some really good contacts before going to a stake Easter concert. It was really cool seeing the stake singing so many Easter songs and meeting the other missionaries in the stake who came.
SATURDAY our ward had an Easter breakfast with our ward. It was a lot of good food, and we even did a service project for the homeless after.
SUNDAY we only had sacrament meeting for Easter. It was a really good meeting focused on the Atonement, and it was really nice to take the sacrament while pondering the Savior's sacrifice.
Luke 24:5–6 says, "5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but is risen..."
