Week 88
This week was super exciting for me, mostly because of General Conference! During the last session of Conference, President Nelson announced 15 new temples to be built across the world, one of which will be in Norfolk, VA, which is just 30 minutes from my home!
MONDAY we went fishing at some ponds that a member owns. I'm not the biggest fan of fishing, and I managed to get my line stuck in a tree 3 times, but it was still fun.
TUESDAY nothing super interesting happened. We did visit a bunch of members, but nothing really noteworthy.
WEDNESDAY we went to the farmers market to try and help people set up their stands. We ended up just being a little too late, but we got to help out managing the high school's stand when they had to go swap the kids.
THURSDAY was the busiest I've seen the food bank since I got to this area. Normally it goes from 8 to 9:50 with another 10 minutes of cleanup, but this time we were still really busy until 10:15.
FRIDAY we had a couple of different lessons with some non-members. They went really well, and it seems like they will want to meet with us again!
SATURDAY we watched all 3 sessions of Conference with a bunch of different members, and we heard some super great talks!
SUNDAY we watched the last 2 sessions of Conference at the institute building with some of the other missionaries. When President Nelson announced the Norfolk temple, I got super excited. Elder Droge said that it was the most excited that he's ever seen me be.
Colossians 2:13–14 says,
"13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross."
1, 2, 3 – conference
