Week 83

Sometimes I've had weeks on the mission where I get really burnt out and exhausted because we're just doing so many different things all the time, but this was like a refresher week just before the end of the transfer. I've just felt like I've been really refreshed spiritually and like I'm ready to go out and share the gospel.

MONDAY we had a district P-day because the zone leaders were too busy to plan anything for the zone to do. Elder Moody planned a really good day for our district. We went bowling for free at a place a member owned, had a picnic lunch with everyone, and then went to a board game store and just played games for a while.

TUESDAY our district council was originally going to be focused on one inspired question we can ask people, but then it turned into how we can better work with members and help them to share the gospel. Overall, it was exactly what the district needed, and you could tell the whole thing was guided by the Spirit. Our lunch that day was completely different from what I expected it was going to be, but I'd say it was better than what I expected. Our housing coordinator had rented a Cybertruck for the day and was just about to take it out for a test drive when we and another companionship walked by. One thing led to another, and we got to drive around in a Cybertruck for an hour. I also got to help out with making a video for our mission's Facebook page afterward.

WEDNESDAY we had our zone conference. What was really cool about it was that everything our leadership talked about was all about member work, and it was cool that our district was prepared because of the district council just the day before.

THURSDAY I was just exhausted all day for no real reason and kept falling asleep anytime we got in the car. Otherwise, it was a decent day because we had a couple of doorstep lessons with people, and we had some really good member visits and committed them to invite their friends to church.

FRIDAY we had a really eventful exchange with the SMLs. To list off some of the things that happened, I took care of a bunch of the photos for the mission's photo album, we helped the senior missionaries prepare for transfers, and we chased down and terrified a bunch of youth at dinner who doorbell-ditched us. What made that last thing so fun was that we had a pickup dinner and were eating with eight other missionaries, all at the church, who had pickup dinners. They first ditched us, and we didn't know where they went, then another time, another elder and I chased one of them down, and then the last time, all of us shot out the door and chased them down. It was a ton of fun, but all the running caused my asthma to act up, and I just ended up laying down on the ground for a while, resting.

SATURDAY we had the monthly breakfast with the stake president's family. It's always so good, and I really enjoyed it a ton.

SUNDAY was special because we were able to help Ashlin bless the sacrament for the first time. It was special seeing him get that chance to use the priesthood.

The Prodigal and the Road That Leads Home is a talk from General Conference a bit ago that I've really loved. I'd just like to invite everyone to read or listen or even just glance over it a bit. I've found it to be really meaningful on my mission. Once you've read it, I'd love to get some emails back and talk about your thoughts.
