Week 82
This week's been kinda boring. We baptized Ashlin, and now we're back to just trying to find new people to teach. It's not always the easiest trying to find people to teach, but I know the Lord has a plan for us.
MONDAY we swapped to the new p-day schedule. Before this, our p-day started at 8 and went until 6 so we could use the last three hours for finding and teaching. Now, we do our normal studies and our weekly planning until 11 when p-day starts, and we go until 9. It's a pretty interesting change, but it worked out pretty well, and everyone seemed to enjoy it a lot. We played some no-tackle football and some ultimate frisbee with everyone, and it ended up being tons of fun.
TUESDAY was also different from normal. Our district council got moved from Friday to Tuesday, so now we see everyone in the zone a lot earlier in the week and basically not at all later on in the week. Something pretty annoying was that the whole day our key kept getting stuck in the ignition. We would try to pull it out, and it would only move to about the halfway point of the position it needed to be so we could take it out.
WEDNESDAY we had scheduled an appointment to get our car checked out, but then we stopped having the problem right after we made the appointment, so we had to call back and cancel. The Lord has a really funny sense of humor, doesn't He?
THURSDAY one of our members took us out to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. I really think this is the area I have been the most well-fed in.
FRIDAY we ended up spending almost three hours at the church because of dealing with some paperwork for Elder Moody's diabetes, helping the senior missionaries, and then a lesson we had at the church. I never realized I'd become an office missionary haha.
SATURDAY we went on a day exchange with the SMLs. I went to their area and mostly just sat around while the SML worked on a video for our mission's Facebook page, Steadfast. Dinner was fun, though, because they ward share, and there were seven missionaries in total at the table.
SUNDAY we had all of our recent converts at sacrament! It's always nice to see them all there, and it was even more special because Ashlin was sustained to be ordained to the Aaronic priesthood!
This is a bit of a longer one, but Mosiah 4:2-7 says:
"2 And they had viewed themselves in their own carnal state, even less than the dust of the earth. And they all cried aloud with one voice, saying: O have mercy, and apply the atoning blood of Christ that we may receive forgiveness of our sins, and our hearts may be purified; for we believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who created heaven and earth, and all things; who shall come down among the children of men.
3 And it came to pass that after they had spoken these words, the Spirit of the Lord came upon them, and they were filled with joy, having received a remission of their sins, and having peace of conscience, because of the exceeding faith which they had in Jesus Christ who should come, according to the words which King Benjamin had spoken unto them.
4 And King Benjamin again opened his mouth and began to speak unto them, saying: My friends and my brethren, my kindred and my people, I would again call your attention, that ye may hear and understand the remainder of my words which I shall speak unto you.
5 For behold, if the knowledge of the goodness of God at this time has awakened you to a sense of your nothingness, and your worthless and fallen state—
6 I say unto you, if ye have come to a knowledge of the goodness of God, and His matchless power, and His wisdom, and His patience, and His long-suffering towards the children of men; and also, the atonement which has been prepared from the foundation of the world, that thereby salvation might come to him that should put his trust in the Lord, and should be diligent in keeping His commandments, and continue in the faith even unto the end of his life, I mean the life of the mortal body—
7 I say, that this is the man who receiveth salvation, through the atonement which was prepared from the foundation of the world for all mankind, which ever were since the fall of Adam, or who are, or who ever shall be, even unto the end of the world."
