Week 72

My first full transfer back in El Paso is done! And the new transfer is exactly the same because Elder Fetuao and I are both staying in Redd Ward.

MONDAY was a bit of a boring P-day, but we managed to have some fun playing wiffle ball with the zone. The best part was when Sister Willis showed up, and we convinced her to take a swing. That night, we went out to Texas Roadhouse for dinner because some of our members had given us a gift card for it.

TUESDAY was a really fast day, but nothing really happened other than tracting going by quickly.

WEDNESDAY, we went and helped out at the farm in the morning. We had a ton of work to do rolling up and putting away these farming tarps and pulling stakes out of the ground.

THURSDAY was just cold and boring, so it was a rough day.

FRIDAY, Elder Fetuao had a pretty good plan for District Council, where he had us go out finding and call a member to help us teach whoever we found. The elder I was paired with and I didn't find anyone, but it was still fun.

SATURDAY, we went out to lunch with some of the senior missionaries. It was fun but way too long because they also had us go grocery shopping with them for an hour. We also saw this place that was giving free car washes for a promotional event, so we stopped in real quick and got our car cleaned.

SUNDAY, we basically just stayed at the church all day because we had ward council, church, and then practice and the actual devotional. It was a long day, and I was exhausted by the end, but it was a ton of fun! There were a ton of people from all over the stake who showed up to watch. It was a lot of fun to actually be up there singing with everyone in the zone and the mission prep class.

Moroni chapters 4 and 5 go over the way that we're supposed to bless the bread and water for the sacrament, giving us the prayer we say for the blessing. Chapter 4:3 says:

"3 O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and sanctify this bread to the souls of all those who partake of it; that they may eat in remembrance of the body of thy Son, and witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they are willing to take upon them the name of thy Son, and always remember him, and keep his commandments which he hath given them, that they may always have his Spirit to be with them. Amen."

I'd like to invite you all to please read this sacrament prayer and ponder its meaning. It's something that can easily fall to the background due to how common it is to us, but it can also be something that truly reminds us of the power of our covenants if we let it.
