Week 60
This week we got transfer news and it's somehow both what I expected and not what I expected!
MONDAY was an easy day for me because we ended up having a lot of lessons with our Spanish friends and I just kinda sat there while Elder Watson taught them. I'm trying to work on learning Spanish, but I have never been good at learning any language.
TUESDAY was pretty boring other than it being hot outside.
WEDNESDAY, the branch helped out an older member whose yard had gotten pretty messy by mowing and picking up trash. It's always nice to be able to help out someone else when we can.
THURSDAY, we actually had a really good English lesson! I was really glad to be able to actually participate in a lesson for once and be able to share my testimony of the restoration. We had taught him about how the church was restored and about the Book of Mormon, inviting him to pray about the message we had shared.
FRIDAY, we went on an exchange with our other zone leader, Elder Colohan. It was a pretty good day, the only issue being that all the lessons we had set up canceled. But we had a lot of fun while out visiting people and tracting by talking about video games and other stuff while we talked. We also had some steaks that a member gave us for a pretty great dinner.
SATURDAY was a bit all over the place. We had to go down to Fort Stockton to unexchange, had lunch with a bunch of members who were having a welcome home party for a return missionary, spent an hour and a half getting an oil change, and then we got the transfer news that Elder Watson is leaving and I'm getting a new companion! Transfer 11 and comp number 10. His name is Elder Hardy and he is from Alaska!
SUNDAY, we taught a mission prep class to the youth and spent a lot of time driving from town to town so we could teach our friends.
3 Nephi 13:6-7 says, "6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father who is in secret; and thy Father, who seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly. 7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen, for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking." Our relationship with our Heavenly Father is something personal and unique for us all, and when we pray, we should pray in a way that will convey the love we have for Him.
1- steak dinner
