Week 58
This was a pretty boring time, but it had some funny moments.
MONDAY, we had a really funny lesson with our most progressing. To keep the explanation short, I got joked on for nodding off during the end of the lesson, for not learning Spanish when they are working on learning English, and then to top it all off, we found out that they thought I was 14 years old and that Elder Watson was 36. I've had a lot of people say that they thought I looked really young, but that's probably the biggest gap between my age and what people think I am that I've seen.
TUESDAY, nothing too interesting happened, and our schedule doesn't have anything special, so nothing else to talk about.
WEDNESDAY, we were getting cooked walking around during the day. Because of all the rain last week, it had been really cloudy and cool, but it finally started clearing up, and now it's just hot again.
THURSDAY wasn't the best day because I woke up with a bunch of bedbug bites all over. I really hate bugs, so I took a good bit of time to clean all my stuff and try to get rid of them the best I can, but I decided it'd probably be best to stay off the bed for a bit. But later, when we got to work, we had a lesson with our Spanish-speaking family where we just watched the Prophet of the Restoration movie with them. But because it was in Spanish, I just kind of let my thoughts wander all over the place.
FRIDAY, we had a whole fiasco trying to take care of some issues that our car was having with its tires. We got it all taken care of though.
SATURDAY, I remembered that I had to give a talk on Sunday that I hadn't worked on at all, so I was in just a little bit of a panic. I think I ended up spending every free moment I had that day just trying to find scriptures and other quotes for the talk, but I managed to make something I could talk for 15 minutes about.
SUNDAY, we had almost nobody at church. It was so empty that we had every single priesthood holder there either blessing or passing the sacrament, even with us helping to pass the sacrament. So after that, Elder Watson and I went up and gave our talks, with us talking for 20 minutes and 10 minutes, respectively. I had decided to talk on how wonderful that the priesthood keys have been restored and on how we can prepare for general conference. The other cool thing that happened was that we put another one of our Spanish friends on date for baptism!
Doctrine and Covenants section 43:8-9 says, "8 And now, behold, I give unto you a commandment, that when ye are assembled together ye shall instruct and edify each other, that ye may know how to act and direct my church, how to act upon the points of my law and commandments, which I have given. 9 And thus ye shall become instructed in the law of my church, and be sanctified by that which ye have received, and ye shall bind yourselves to act in all holiness before me." Here's a reminder to prepare for general conference!
