Week 48

Another week in El Paso, and it's been marked by saying goodbye to one mission president and saying hello to a new one.

MONDAY started off the same as last week with us going and playing pickleball with the other missionaries. We also went and got haircuts because my hair was getting pretty shaggy, and I needed to look good for the new mission president.

TUESDAY was the start of a lot of problems for the southern part of the mission because all of our missionary apps started having a lot of bugs. It's a bit of a pain, but I guess it just means we get to see what missionaries in the past had to deal with.

WEDNESDAY we went on exchanges with our district leader. It was pretty cool being able to go on exchanges in a trio because you're able to get a new look at the area.

THURSDAY we had a final meeting with President and Sister Edwards. They did a big lunch for all the southern zones and gave a bunch of final goodbyes. I'm really glad that I got to serve with them, and they will always have a special place in my heart. I also got to have my final interview with President, and I was able to get some pretty good advice from him.

FRIDAY we had a ton of lessons, so we just went from one place to the next almost all day. This area has been very different from any other one I've been in, but it's still pretty cool.

SATURDAY we went and ran a track that's near our apartment in the morning for a workout. And apparently today was just a day for working out, because we helped our neighbors move out of their apartment just before lunch. We also had a mission-wide Zoom meeting where the mission president and his wife introduced themselves.

SUNDAY we did a lot of tracting to find new people to teach and ended up just finding a lot of Spanish speakers for the Spanish elders to teach. We also had our first family home evening with the Willis'.
This week has been pretty hectic, but I'm looking forward to this next year with President Willis. My spiritual thought comes from Alma 40, which talks about the resurrection that will happen at the Second Coming and the restoration of the body at that time. In verse 23, it says, "23 The soul shall be restored to the body, and the body to the soul; yea, and every limb and joint shall be restored to its body; yea, even a hair of the head shall not be lost; but all things shall be restored to their proper and perfect frame." Through Jesus Christ and His Atonement, we can all be made whole both body and spirit.
