Week 43

This email won't be too long because the only thing that really happened this week was that both Elder Shawcroft and I got a stomach bug which knocked us out for the week. It was a rough couple of days, but we're back in shape and are excited to return to the work.

MONDAY we had our last p-day of the transfer down in Santa Fe. We played a bunch of dodgeball with the whole zone for a bit and then a handful of us started playing the one board game called 7 Wonders with one of the senior missionaries. The rest of the day was pretty normal, except at the very end when Elder Shawcroft started having symptoms from the stomach bug.

TUESDAY we just stayed inside and let Elder Shawcroft work on recovering.

WEDNESDAY we managed to have a phone lesson with one of our friends we had been teaching for a bit, Anna. It went really well and they are loving the gospel so much. Then that night I ended up getting hit with the stomach bug which was really rough. We also found out that both of us are staying in Taos for another transfer!

THURSDAY was just more rest and recovery for the both of us.

FRIDAY we were feeling well enough to go to district council, so we were able to go and say goodbye to the missionaries that were leaving the zone.

SATURDAY we went to an urgent care because my throat had gotten pretty messed up from the vomiting and our mission health coordinator wanted us to make sure I didn't get a throat infection. Thankfully it wasn't infected, but it did have a decent amount of swelling due to all the irritation, so we were told to just get more rest.

SUNDAY we were doing well enough to go to church and it was pretty interesting because we ended up having a ton of visitors from out of town come to church there, and then they had all the men that were there stand up and sing for Memorial Day. It was pretty cool to see the chapel so full.

Alma 16:16 says, "And there was no inequality among them; the Lord did pour out his Spirit on all the face of the land to prepare the minds of the children of men, or to prepare their hearts to receive the word which should be taught among them at the time of his coming." The blessings of the Lord are available to all people and are there to help prepare our hearts to receive the greater joy that is offered through Christ.
