Week 41

This week, we had some pretty wild weather while we were out and about during the day. We experienced wind, rain, and even hail, but I'm just happy for anything other than dry weather!

On Monday, we had our zone P-day in Santa Fe, so I wrote most of my email on the way there and back. Other than that, we didn't do anything too interesting besides playing some ultimate frisbee with the whole zone.

Tuesday, we did all our normal planning for the week and then went tracting for the rest of the day. The tracting itself wasn't anything too interesting, but we were dealing with really strong winds that were blowing us around a lot.

Wednesday, we went out to the part of our area called Angel Fire and tried to visit some members that we'd never met. Because it's so far into the mountains, we even saw a herd of elk.

Thursday, we had been asked to prepare a training on how we can prepare our friends for baptism. A big thing we focused on was making sure that they have friends within the church and making sure that they understand the covenant they are making at baptism.

Friday, we had a pretty busy day with a bunch of lessons, which was a nice change from all the tracting we'd been doing recently. We also got to give our training, which was pretty fun.

Saturday, we had some even wilder weather with hail and a lightning storm! It messed with our schedule a bit, so we had to take a little time to figure out what to do about it. After a while, we had housing inspections and then went to dinner with some of the senior missionaries.

Sunday was Mother's Day! Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing mothers out there. We had some really great talks from people about how much their mothers have made a difference in their lives.

In Luke 1:38, it says, "38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her." Mary's willingness to serve is something that's often very understated, but it truly is an amazing show of faith on her part.
