MTC Week 2
Another week into my actual mission, and I'm tired. Attending class, devotionals, workshops, and all other preparatory work for my mission is exciting but also very tiring. Monday was a fairly calm day, with the district attending a workshop on how to have normal and natural conversations with investigators before going to the fitness center or the gym to work out some.
Tuesday was a very early day, with all the Elders in my district waking up at 5:30, so we would have enough time to do laundry, eat breakfast, and get going to the temple for our temple work session. It was a very busy preparation day with talking to family, as well as being the first practice teaching appointment for my companion and me. It went okay, but derailed when they asked us the same question for the third time in a row; they were not happy with our answer, apparently. However, the day ended well with a very nice devotional that I struggled to stay awake for.
The next day was nothing too special, as we just went to class and then the gym afterward. Thursday was a bit more interesting as we had another practice teaching appointment where we taught the plan of salvation and restoration, inviting the investigator actor to read Mosiah 10:3-5 and to pray that what we taught was true.
Friday was a great day, maybe the best I've had here at the MTC. We had another appointment with the same person from Thursday, this time bringing our district-mate, Elder Markham, with us, doing an amazing job teaching about the atonement of Jesus Christ, repentance, and prayer. We also had a get-together with everyone in our district where we played Mafia before having to go back to our residences for the night.
Saturday, we had an early session at the temple where I slipped on the stairs. After the temple, it was just classes and meals until around 7:00 when we all went to the field for some exercise where, in an unexpected turn of events, the fire department, police, and EMS showed up. Apparently, a couple of Elders in another district were going a bit too aggressively and ended up hitting their heads against each other, with one of them going down, leading to 911 being called. Later that evening, after my district had gone back to the MTC main gym so we could set up for the devotional tomorrow, we saw another ambulance just outside; this time it was here for a sister who was feeling lightheaded. Thankfully, it seems like neither case was severe, but it was still surprising to see.
Finally, Sunday, we went to church and attended a devotional together as a district. It was a pretty good week, and I'm excited to be going to the mission field soon.

2: My district outside the temple.
3: 911 was called.
