Week 102

This is my last weekly email here on the mission. I've learned so much serving the Lord, and I want to keep learning more about Him and becoming more like Him for the rest of my life. I'm about to start a new part of my life, and I'm both scared and excited, but I feel prepared. MONDAY was pretty fun with us playing a ton of different sports and other activities, as well as doing a bunch of transfer journal signing. TUESDAY was a weird day because our zone leadership thought it would be a good idea to do whitewash zone-wide exchanges with everyone. I was put into a full Spanish area with an Elder who had just started learning Spanish. It was a weird day with a bunch of random stuff happening, including a missionary who served in that area previously calling us while in the middle of a lesson with a recent convert he had just baptized a couple of days ago. WEDNESDAY we ended the zone-wide exchanges with a big brunch with everyone in the zone. I also had green chili enchilada...

Week 85

Transfers have been fun, training has been a little stressful. I guess that's how it goes when you do anything new, but opening a new area is also the cherry on top. But the members here are super cool! MONDAY was a fun last P-day in the Mt. Franklin zone. We got together at this one board game shop and beat a game I really wanted to try. Afterwards, we went to the church and had a big Nerf war with the zone in the cultural hall. Then we finished up my signing transfer journals and saying goodbye to the missionaries who were heading home. TUESDAY I went on exchanges with another elder being transferred and we basically just spent the whole day saying goodbyes to members and packing up our stuff. WEDNESDAY we had our transfers and I picked up my new greenie, Elder Droge (Dro-ge). He's from West Valley City, UT and is actually older than me, which is funny. Week 95

A couple more doctor visits and the announcement of the next AP for our mission has given some interesting events for this week. MONDAY was a whole ordeal all on its own because we spent about 4 hours just sitting in waiting rooms at the E.R. to get Elder Riggle's leg looked at. Our mission nurse thought he might have something called compartment syndrome and told him to go to the E.R. because if he did have it, he would possibly need emergency surgery. We went, waited around for a while, got his leg looked at for about 10 minutes, and were told that he was fine. TUESDAY we joined a bunch of the other missionaries in the zone for Spanish class so that Elder Riggle can start working on his Spanish before the mission turns fully Spanish. WEDNESDAY we had a follow-up at urgent care for Elder Riggle's leg. More sitting in waiting rooms, hurray! THURSDAY we were able to spend some time out and about knocking doors and contacting the friends we're teaching. It was great to be...
