Week 82

Image
This week's been kinda boring. We baptized Ashlin, and now we're back to just trying to find new people to teach. It's not always the easiest trying to find people to teach, but I know the Lord has a plan for us. MONDAY we swapped to the new p-day schedule. Before this, our p-day started at 8 and went until 6 so we could use the last three hours for finding and teaching. Now, we do our normal studies and our weekly planning until 11 when p-day starts, and we go until 9. It's a pretty interesting change, but it worked out pretty well, and everyone seemed to enjoy it a lot. We played some no-tackle football and some ultimate frisbee with everyone, and it ended up being tons of fun. TUESDAY was also different from normal. Our district council got moved from Friday to Tuesday, so now we see everyone in the zone a lot earlier in the week and basically not at all later on in the week. Something pretty annoying was that the whole day our key kept getting stuck in the ignition....

Week 81

This week has been pretty great. It's been really nerve-wracking trying to make sure we had everything we needed to do done, but we managed somehow. TUESDAY – We and another companionship were given permission to travel with a senior missionary couple to the Gila Valley Temple! All of us were really excited because this was the first time any of us had gone to the temple in around 5–6 months. It was a really boring drive there, but when we were actually inside the temple, it was such a spiritual, uplifting, and calming experience that it was all worth it. Afterwards, the drive back was even longer and more boring because we had to take the back roads due to the highway being closed in some parts. WEDNESDAY was pretty normal, but something really cool was that President and Sister Willis took us out to eat for dinner! It was a mix of interviews and just getting to know them, so it was pretty unique. THURSDAY was another regular day, but we did have a lesson with our friend who was o...

Don't worry, I'm not breaking mission standards, nor did I miss a week on my email. Our P-day was moved to today this week so we could go to the temple with some of the other missionaries! It's so exciting to be able to go to the temple again after so long. MONDAY I played Magic: The Gathering for the first time in a long while. I lost every game, but it was still pretty fun. Then later that night, we had a really great phone call lesson with this media referral who really wants to learn more about our church! TUESDAY we had a lot of small lessons with people at one of the apartment complexes in our area. It was pretty tiring because it had gotten pretty hot out, but it was also really rewarding. WEDNESDAY we had a good time helping out at the farm. It's a ton of fun going there because you're able to hang out with a bunch of the other missionaries and do some really rewarding service. That was also when we found out about the P-day change for the temple. Then after...

Week 79

I've gotten some notifications that last week's email didn't go through to some people, so if you like it, please let me know. MONDAY everyone did a bunch of transfer journal signing and goodbyes. We also played a bunch of different games like chair soccer, dodgeball, and pickleball. TUESDAY we spent time packing, saying goodbyes to members, and picking up a missionary who had just come back after surgery and needed a companion until transfers. Then that evening, we got a final picture with the district. WEDNESDAY we had transfers. I dropped off Elder Fetuao and picked up Elder Moody. We spent a lot of the day just introducing him to people and helping him get settled in. THURSDAY the farm reopened after being closed for the holidays. It was pretty fun getting to help out there and meeting a lot of the new missionaries that came into the zone. FRIDAY we had something unique happen. Elder Moody was actually transferred here to help out with deaf people in the stake, and so t...
