Week 21

As I've gotten closer and closer to Christmas day, I feel like I'm getting a stronger appreciation for the Savior and his life. The excitement for Christmas day is really strong in my apartment right now because this is the last one for three of the four missionaries here before they go home. MONDAY was a pretty fun day for the zone because at P-day, we did a big white elephant game with everyone. None of the gifts were too crazy, but everyone had fun and got something. For dinner that day, we headed over to a member's house for a Christmas party they were doing and got to talk with everyone there. We headed out a bit early from that so we could have a lesson with a less active member who has been wanting to come back to church more. It was really cool to see the spirit working on him and talking with him about the Native American beliefs. TUESDAY was a day I had been looking forward to for a while because I was getting one of my favorite foods for dinner! One of the foods ...

My first full week with Elder Stanger has come and gone a lot quicker than I thought it would. The work has been going really well, and we've been able to have a lot of lessons with people as we've gotten used to working together. MONDAY, I got to know a lot of the new missionaries in the zone and had some fun with all of them. Closer to the end of p-day, I opened up a package from my family, which had a bunch of letters from people back home and some festive ties to wear during December. I really enjoyed reading all the letters and just being able to see how everyone back home is doing. When we got back to finding for the last part of the day, I was actually really surprised that we found somebody to talk with right away. We had a pretty good talk with him and got his number so we could meet with him after holidays, which I say is a success. TUESDAY, we were stuck inside for a while because of weekly planning and other studies. But once we got back out to finding, we started f...

This week was transfer week, and it's goodbye to Elder Holbrook. I've officially gone 4 for 4 with transfers and getting a new companion each time. MONDAY, everyone knew that transfers were coming, and the missionaries waiting on Visas would be going to their original assignments Thursday, so everyone spent a lot of time bringing their transfer journals around and having people sign them. It's sad to see them all leaving, but I know that they will all be diligent missionaries, and that the Lord will bless them for their efforts in their called areas. TUESDAY was a bit of an interesting day because stuff we weren't expecting just kept popping up. While we were out tracting, we knocked on the door of some very enthusiastic Jehovah's Witnesses. It was interesting to see how their beliefs really do have some truth but are missing some of the fundamental principles of the gospel. As we were talking with them, we were starting to run out of time, so we testified of the tr...

This was a really great week with a lot of lessons and some very fun activities. We found a lot of new people to teach who seem fairly interested, so I really hope that the Holy Ghost is about to touch their hearts. MONDAY wasn't just an average P-day of basketball and board games but started off with my district going to Top Golf and having some fun. It was pretty great, with us playing an Angry Birds mode, which we all had a lot of fun with. After that experience, I can definitely say that I'm not that good at golf, but it is pretty fun. TUESDAY was a bit more disappointing in the morning because a chapel tour we had set up with one of our friends fell through when they never showed up. It was kinda sad, but life gets busy, so we understand. But we got back on track and ended up finding a couple of people that said we could stop by another time and share a message, which is pretty exciting. WEDNESDAY started off with us waking up and getting ready early so that we could go he...
